Monday was a really exciting day. My whole family and I are going on the holiday train this evening. I messaged my friend Vince to make sure he was going to be on the train but he said he had hurt his back and he was out for the season, I hope you feel better soon… I know how much this poor guy hates to stay down. I messaged my friend Ian who works on the train and he said he would try to make it over and help me get my family on the train but he had to take care of the horses first. Karen came in and we did some personal care and a nice long hot bath, She got me dressed and up in my chair. I took Robby for a cruise around Depot Park a couple of times and then back. Dude and I took off for a cruise down to the end of the wharf and back. Debbie, Kevin, and Kelly made Enchiladas, they wanted to make it early so we could cook it later and spend time just getting to know each other again. Rosa came in and fed the boys and then put me to bed, she had some last-minute stuff she needed to do so she took off.
Tuesday was another great day! Cindy came in and fed the boys and then fed me, got me dressed and up in my chair. I was up before everyone else so I decided to take Robby for a cruise Down to Westside Animal Hospital for his appointment to get his blood pressure. Steve cruised down there with me and the appointment was pretty quick so we cruised back and I took Dude for a cruise down to the wharf, over to the boardwalk and back. By the time I got back the Lasagna smelled amazing, they also made some killer garlic bread! We decided to set up the tables in my room and everyone eat in the room because it's so cold outside. They made three different kinds of enchiladas and they were all amazing, they also made refried beans with a couple kinds of cheeses. Just as we were finishing eating Rosa came in to fit the boys and put me to bed. We decided to watch a movie, I don't remember exactly what movie we saw tonight because we have been watching a lot of movies… When it's raining outside what do you do?
Wednesday was a really awesome day, Christmas Day! Karen came in and fed the fur voice and then course we had to do some personal care and a nice long warm bath and up in my chair, luckily it didn't take too long. We all bought matching pajamas, what a great idea that was and everybody participated. Since we were in our pajamas all day we just hung out and reminisced. You could already smell the standing rib roast cooking in the oven, they also made some scalloped potatoes from two kinds of cheeses and this really awesome wedge salad with endive lettuce… It was so delicious! I got some pies at the buttery, key lime, Dutch Apple and of course pumpkin. We all stuffed ourselves, there were about 15 people, and nobody wanted to move so we just kept on catching up. Sara came in so Rosa could have the evening off, about all she had to do was feed the boys and put me to bed… And of course, wash my face and brush my teeth. Everybody was really tired and I was glad because I didn't want to be the only one so we all went to bed early.
Thursday was bittersweet, Kevin's going home today and Debbie and her family are leaving in the morning. We had such a great time, I'm going to remember this for a long time! Karen came in and fed the boys, fed me and then got me up and in my chair. Robby and I went out for a cruise around Depot Park a couple times while everybody was still sleeping. Dude and I went for a nice cruise through Depot Park, up and down the wharf a couple times, The scenery was gorgeous, and then home. We decided to take a drive out to Pescadero to get some green chili soup and nice warm artichoke bread, that stuff is amazing! The bread was still warm and had HUGE chunks of artichokes in it, We brought it back and enjoyed it and got in a little last-minute reminiscing before Kelly took Kevin to the airport. Rosa came in and put me to bed and everybody came in to say goodbye before they left in the morning. I was really tired and fell right to sleep.
Friday was a pretty good day. I wanted to wake up to say goodbye to the Stott cousins but I guess they peaked in and I was asleep, luckily my mom came in and woke me up so I could say goodbye. I'm really not a big fan of saying goodbye but it was awesome to see them off! Susan came in and gave me a nice long amazing massage, lately for some reason I have been sleeping all the way through my massages but this time I stayed awake. Karen came in and we did some personal care and a nice long hot bath, all that stuff that I ate that I shouldn't have eaten is starting to catch up with me now… I was feeling pretty good and thought maybe I just enough to not get me sick. After the bath, we had to do some more personal care and pretty much took all day… I think I finally got up around 2 PM which gives me only a couple of hours to take both dogs out for a cruise. Sara came in and fed the hungry boys and then put me to bed, she was going to go to Safeway to pick up some stuff for me but it was raining too hard so I figured we wait until tomorrow. The rest of the evening I just spent watching TV, listening to music, editing pictures and reminiscing about what a great time I had with my family at Christmas.
Saturday was an okay day. I'm still a little bloated and uncomfortable but thank goodness it's only for a couple of days. Cindy came in and fed the fur babies and then got me dressed and up in my chair. It was cold and I still felt a little miserable, my chest and back wouldn't stop sweating and the cold air just makes it worse. I took the dogs out and Sara was supposed to come in at three, she messaged me and said she wasn't feeling good so could she come in at four… She then texted me at four and said she wasn't going to be able to come in so I scrambled to find somebody to put me to bed. Karen didn't answer so I texted Cindy and she said that they were in Palo Alto watching her brother play football and she would come by and put me to bed after they got home if I hadn't heard from Karen. Cindy did come in and put me to bed, thank God for Cindy! After I was in bed Karen texted me and said that she had to go work with her other client in San Mateo and didn't see my text until she got home late. I always panic when something like this happens, I tell my caregivers to PLEASE if you're not going to come in or if you're feeling sick let me know before I get up. It took me a Lorazepam and some cannabis chocolate to calm me down and I had a nice relaxing evening. I watched TV for a while and fell asleep.
Sunday was a nice relaxing day. Cindy came in and fed the boys and I and then straightened up the garage, it is such a mess… It's time to go through there again and get rid of some stuff. I didn't get up because I didn't want a repeat of yesterday so I watched TV and just kept warm all day. Sara did come in but there wasn't a lot to do so she was done and out of here quickly. I edited pictures and worked on my blog until I fell asleep.
