Rain is finally here, so great to see it…

Monday was a really great day. I got up and went outside and Omar was already starting to put up the lighted Christmas decorations, how could it possibly be a bad day. Robby and I cruised downtown to meet Marica and Teresa for lunch at the Walnut Ave. Café, I looked it up the night before and the menu looked pretty awesome and it was a lot of good reviews on yelp. I was so excited to see the girls that I forgot what I wanted to order for breakfast so I had to look at the menu, and usually look up and figure out what I want online before I go so I will have such a hard time choosing. Whenever I'm with them it just never seems to be enough time but I always come away feeling so great! I started to cruise down to the wharf but then it started sprinkling so I decided to come on home. I came home and rested for a while and it looked like there was a break in the rain so I tried it again, and only made it a couple of blocks and had to turn around. I rested for a while and it looked like the sun was out so Robby and I went for it again, this time we made it all away up to Safeway and back before the clouds moved in again. Rosa came in and put me to bed and showed me an amazing dinner of prime rib, roasted potatoes, green beans with Dijon and garlic and mushrooms cooked in garlic and wine… Truly an amazing meal. When I got back I noticed that Omar put up my new scarf/hat holder behind my bedroom door. I had one of those cloth things that hangs over the door for shoes and it looked awful and it was really heavy, this looks so much better. Okay if you see unexplained items that we took pictures of it is the items in my advent calendar. Terri put it together and Angie, Parker, Piper and Phoebe    picked out all the surprises in each day…

Tuesday was another day stuck in bed. My pressure sore looks like it's almost feel so it is all worth it, I hope there's a little bit of sun left by the time I get up on a regular basis But if not I guess you just get a little bit wet. A new visiting nurse came today, there are all nice and very knowledgeable. Rosa came in and did some personal care and I got to take a shower over the tub, she put me back to bed and the last thing I remember.

Wednesday was kind of a bittersweet day. Karen said one pressure sore looks a lot worse than another one opened back up again, I'm really getting tired of this. I got up anyway because I had plans to go with Julie to see the theory of everything. I have been wanting to see it and it was a great movie, we both enjoyed it. I was like to meet her there but decided it would be better if she just drove over here and drove my van to the movies, good thing we did because as soon as we parked and it started just dumping, it was raining so hard. She parked the van and as I was finding someplace out of the rain she said when she went with some money in the meter the leader said there was no parking there today because of the farmers market so she had to come and find me and then tell me she was going to drive around until she can find somewhere to park, she made it just in time for the movie to start. Rosa came in and put me to bed, she brought me some tamales for dinner at her friend made… They were so good.

Thursday was kind of an okay day. I got up and took Robby for a cruise through the lagoon, down to the end of the wharf and back and then to my appointment downtown, I have been looking for a psychologist for a while and this place downtown was recommended to me by the social worker from VNA.  I didn't bring my Google glass and of course the clouds were beautiful, the ocean sparkled like diamonds with the sun and there was a pelican sitting on the end of the wharf that let me get really close. I thought it was going to be cold so I wore a thermal, a shirt, a scar and a sweater shall… I ended up sweating the whole time and the sun was out. Two ladies came in while I was in the waiting room and said that they accidentally scheduled me with an intern who had only been there for a week, not one that Medicare will pay for. She said that since it was their mistake they would give me eight free visits and then if I am not satisfied with the intern they will find me somebody else with more experience, I was thrilled to hear about the free visits but after talking to her for an hour she decided that I needed to talk to somebody with more experience, that was a bummer. She was really easy to talk to and in only one visit gave me some really good advice but she thought it would be best for me to talk to somebody else. They do have a waiting list so now I have to wait again for somebody to call and start all over, hopefully it will be for the best. On the way home I ran into Mark, my neighbor behind me, he is such a nice guy and so very smart. He has been everywhere and done everything it seems. He makes is really gorgeous trees out of rocks, copper wire and see glass that he finds. He spends a lot of time on Westcliff Drive, the wharf, the Boardwalk and Capitola… It must be awesome to be able to work anywhere on any day. I came home and rested for a while and then Rosa came and put me to bed. My pressure sore has now turned into sores, it's very frustrating, it seems like on Monday everything will be almost all healed up and then I get up for a day or two and is a huge setback… The visiting nurse finally decided to send in their homes care specialist next Monday, I hope they can figure something out because this is making me crazy.

Friday was another day stuck in bed. Susan came in and gave me a massage and then the visiting nurse came as she was leaving.  I rested for a while and then Shauna came in and flipped over again and here I lay…

Saturday I was in bed again. I have been laying on my side most of the day and by the time it's time to turn me over I usually have a headache and chills. They FINALLY decided to call in their wound care nurse, why didn't they do that three weeks ago when I told them I had a wound?? Lisa came in and hung the rest of the scarves on the back of my door, it looks so much better than that pocket thing that is made for shoes. Omar came in and took the Thanksgiving stuff back to storage and started putting up some lights, presents and trees in the front yard and on the front porch.  Shaun came in and fed Robby and I and finished up the laundry.

Sunday I stayed in bed again. Lisa came in and put me on my site for a while and I stayed that way for as long as I could, I made it until Teresa came in, she brought a turkey so we can try out my new Farberware, it turned out excellent. She also did a turkey leg in my smoker/pressure cooker and it looked pretty awesome also.  Terese also brought me some of my favorite cowgirl cheese and some fennel salami, it was awesome! After I ate I just couldn't keep my eyes open so I don't even remember Teresa leaving, I just woke up and my living room was already decorated for Christmas.

I like all the little figurines in the pictures, Tammie :) How cute where your scarves are hanging now! You do have quite a collection of them!

That's funny. I bought cheese and sausage this week too...but a lot less classier than yours. Merkts and Spartan cheese. My son ate all of it and gained a couple pounds.
