Tuesday was a pretty good day. David, Aubrey and Stephen left at
5 AM to get to the airport and catch the plane back… It was such a great visit and I can't wait until they come back. Cindy came in and got me up And I took Robby for a cruise through the lagoon, through Bay St., Park, down Westcliff Drive to the first turnout, down to the wharf and back home where we hung out in the driveway for a little while. I exchange dogs and Dude and I went for a cruise through the lagoon, through Bay St., Park, down to the end of the wharf and back and then over to Dudes first vet appointment here in Santa Cruz. I saw Dr. Shuman and he thinks that Dude has kennel cough and gave him some antibiotics and something for his cough, he also said that Robby shouldn't hang out with his woofpack for about a week or so. I feel really bad because I know he really looks forward to it. I came back and grabbed Robby again and we went for another little cruise and then hung out in the driveway for a little while again, I really love this big guy. Rosa still wasn't feeling very good so Cindy came in to put me to bed again. I wasn't able to write anything in my blog the two weeks I was in Santa Rosa so I spent the last couple of days trying to catch up, I hope I remembered everything but I'm sure I didn't.
Wednesday was a pretty good day. Karen came in and we did some personal camera and a nice long hot bath and she got me up, I wasn't able to have Susan come in for my massage because I had an appointment to get a facial at noon, I really really needed one… It has been about a month. I don't really want to show my face when I haven't had a facial because I feel like I have whiskers all over the place and after I feel so awesome! Dude and I cruised down to the end of the wharf and back, partway down the boardwalk and back home. Dude is still freaking out a little bit over all the new sounds and smells and everything but he's doing better every day. I dropped off Dude I got Robby and we cruised through the Lagoon, down in front of the wharf and in front of the boardwalk and back home. It's really hard to keep remembering that Robby does not have public access anymore and I can't take him on the wharf or the boardwalk, after seven years it's so hard to try to remember that.We came back home and Cindy came in to put me to bed again because Rosa is still not feeling well, I hope she goes to the doctor and finds out what's wrong… And feels better soon.
Thursday was a pretty good day. Karen came in and got me up and she took Robby for a little cruise while I took Dude through the lagoon and then downtown to my appointment with Carol, my psychologist. The elevator is so small that I have to have Carol come down and walk Dude up to her room and then back down after. We cruised around for a little bit through Depot Park, to the end of the wharf and back and down through the boardwalk to get him registered, they know about my other two service dogs but I wanted them to know about this one also. We cruised back home and of course I couldn't get down my street because of all the repair work that still going on but I also couldn't cut through the apartments because there was a roofing truck blocking the route I usually take through the apartments so I had to go back out and cross the street, go up the right-hand side of Laurel Street… Where the bushes have grown it out into the sidewalk and is really narrow. Across the street at the top of the hill and came back down, it's really steep right there but at least it's not wet and slippery… Usually, it is. Of course, I wasn't able to take Robby out for a cruise so we just hung out in the driveway for a while. Rosa went to the doctor and found out that she has pneumonia so Cindy came in again and put me to bed and fed the boys and the girl.
Friday was a pretty good day. Karen came in and we did some personal care and I got to take a nice relaxing long hot bath, it felt great! She got me dressed and up in my chair and now to figure out what maneuver I need to make to get out of my Street. I live in a cul-de-sac in the end of the cul-de-sac they have been working on the roads for probably a couple of months so every day the route out of my Street is different. There's an apartment complex on one side of my house and you can drive all the way through but yesterday there was a roofing truck blocking it so I couldn't drive through, they have been fixing the roof on this apartment complex for probably six months… Most of the time just pouring all the staples, nails, tiles and other debris in my driveway. So they directed me across the street in front of the cul-de-sac and up that sidewalk, the IV has grown so the sidewalk is only wide enough for my chair and had to go pretty much in the street… I don't like that at all. Then I had to come down on the other side of Laurel Street, usually the sidewalk is wet and in the past my chair has slid to the side and almost dump me in the street. I texted Trish, in the purple house, to find out how she has been getting in and out of her house… She is around the corner right on Laurel Street. She told me she was headed back home and that she would introduce me to one of the guys that are in charge of getting people to and from their houses so I headed back to meet them. He was a really nice man, I had seen him several times before when I passed through, and he told me the route and escorted me to my house to drop off Robby and pick up Dude to head back out again. We cruised around for a while, the lagoon is also blocked off because of work they are doing there so we cruised to the end of the wharf and back, to the end of the boardwalk and back and into the end of the wharf and back again, Dude is really getting used to Santa Cruz and the noises don't scare him too much anymore. I brought Dude home and my mom fed them and I took off for the gin blossoms free concert on the beach, it was a little cold but I fumbled up and hoped for the best. I'm glad I went because it was an awesome concert! The lead singer was saying that the night before they were inducted into the Arizona Music Hall of Fame and that you woke up this morning and his voice was gone, how ironic. He apologized several times and not only put on a great concert but played a lot of the hit songs and play longer than they usually do, I go to the 6:30 PM show and usually the 8:30 PM show they play more known hits and they play longer. As the concert went on I noticed the waves getting bigger and bigger and the water getting closer and closer to the stage, some people had to move because they were getting wet from the high tide. I wonder how the 8:30 PM show went? I tried is usually about 8:00 PM…I came home and Theresa put me to bed and got me something to eat, I was really hungry.
Saturday was a pretty boring day. Cindy came in and fed the boys, Penny and I and I decided to stay in bed. Last night when I got home there was a couple of marks on my butt so I decided to take a day off and give it a chance to get better before a busy week next week… I didn't really feel like trying to fight the road construction and hopefully, that will be done soon or at least move on down the street. I watch TV all day and try to sleep a little bit, it was so boring. I got used to getting up every day so staying in bed is not as relaxing as it used to be. Theresa came in and set me back up, Cindy put me on my side for the day, and made me some breaded and fried abalone, asparagus and a salad… It was awesome! I think I fell asleep before she left.
Sunday was a pretty good day. Cindy came in and while she was getting me dressed something told me to text Theresa and I asked her she could come in at 4 PM, it's a good thing I texted her because she told me that her throat was hurting all night and she woke up with a sore throat and wasn't going to come in… If asked everybody several times to let me know as soon as they don't feel good so I don't get up. I did notice this morning on Facebook but it was her daughter's birthday, I'm just so disappointed that she couldn't just come out and tell me this morning if she didn't feel good. I asked her again to please let me know next time before I get up if she's not coming in. Cindy said she would come back and put me to bed, she is so awesome! Her mom has been sick all week so she has been coming into put me to bed. I took Dude out with me first and we cruised through Depot Park, down to the Polynesian festival on the wharf and down to the end of the boardwalk and back. I watched a little bit of the Polynesian dancers but it was just way too crowded. I came back and got Robby and we cruised through Depot Park, in front of the wharf and the boardwalk, down Westcliff a little bit and downtown and back. My answer garden is just going crazy, my mom went over there to help her pick some stuff and she brought back cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce green beans and radishes… I love all of this fresh stuff! By the time I got back home with Robby my phone was dead so I couldn't open up the app to unlock the door so I waited until either my mom came back across the street or Cindy came in. My mom came back and let me in and I just rested until Cindy got here. Cindy put me to bed and got me something to eat and she brought me some brownies that she made, they were awesome! I watched TV for a little while and then I was out.
