Tuesday was a lot better. Cindy came in, Lisa had to go to the eye doctor because her I was hurting… She thought she had an infection. I thought about getting up better look like it was going to be cold outside and if I was getting sick and don't want to chance it. Of course it turned out to be a really beautiful day and is supposed to rain tomorrow. Cindy put me on my side and I just rested the rest of the day and watch TV. Rosa came in and put me to bed and we did some personal care and a shower.
Wednesday was a great day. Karen came in and got me up and I cruised downtown where I stopped to say hello to the lady in the information booth, I always say hi as I go by and I see her at the Santa Cruz derby girls but I never properly introduced myself so since there wasn't anybody around I stopped to say hello. Our name is Venas, sounds like Venus. I read an article about her and I always hear her talking to people and she's so sweet and cheerful. We cruised on down to Hager prosthetics to pick up the soft front of my heart back brace, Tom had called me and said it was ready to be picked up. Since I was down there I decided to cruise down to Dr. Owen's office to see if my paperwork for my new CCI service dog was ready, it was only about two blocks further. They had called and left a message but since I don't have anything on my file they can't leave a detailed message, while I was down there I had been put on my record that they could say anything in the message. I cruised back and rested for a bit before Rosa came in to put me to bed, I just relax and watch TV until I fell sleep.
Thursday was a pretty good day. Karen came in and got me up but when we went to try on the brace that I picked up at Hanger prosthetics the day before there were no straps, they were all cut off. I didn't have time to call because I had my appointment downtown with Carol, my psychologist. That went pretty well, I always wonder how will you know if it's time to stop saying her but so far I haven't read out of things to say so I guess not yet? Robby and I cruised down to the Santa Cruz wharf and then back home for my appointment with Kay. Rosa wanted the evening off to spend Cinco de Mayo with her family so Karen came in. I wanted Kerry to show Kay the exact spot on the top of my head where I wanted my hair cut shorter because every morning when I wake up after wearing the CPAP machine it looks like a mushroom. I keep trying to tell her and point but she never seems to get the right place, hopefully this did it. Karen put me to bed and got Robby and I something to eat and then left. The rest of the night was really relaxing. The house on the other side of my bedroom window has many trees that just get full of fruit and fall off, it makes me crazy. There is an apple tree, a Plumtree and the one that bugs me the most is the avocado tree… It just kills me to see all of those avocados laying on the ground that there when I love them so much. Periodically I'll find one in the middle of the street where a squirrel grabbed it, took a bite out of it and just left it there in the middle of the street. Today a squirrel decided to leave one with a bite taken out of it on my fence so I can see it through the window, I swear this world did it on purpose to get on my nerves.
Friday was another pretty good day. Karen came in and got me up and I decided before I went anywhere I was going to make a bunch of phone calls that I needed to make, I always put them off because I hate the telephone. The first one was Quicken. Every time I try to sign in it wants me to sign in to an AOL account I used to have two verify and since I don't have that account anymore I had to sit on the phone for half an hour to wait for help. By the time the guy got on the phone I was really frustrated and thank goodness Karen was there to help me and calm me down. Whenever I talk to someone on the phone because I have to use a microphone they always hear themselves and to me and asked me to turn down the speaker, when I turned down the speaker I can't hear them so it's very frustrating. I didn't really realize how frustrated I get until Karen said that she felt bad for me, I need to work on that. I feel bad taking up so much of somebody's time but my Karen said "that's what they get paid for and they are used to it" I know she's right. I had to go through each of my accounts and initiate them so it felt like it took forever. After that was over with I was relieved at how much easier all of my other phone calls were to make. I had to call mobility works to rent a van for our trip to Oregon in July, reschedule my waxing/facial with Jennifer… I scheduled it on the same time as my appointment with Carol on Thursday so I just made it for an hour later. I also called my nutritionist to reschedule my diabetic update point, I made it on the same day as my dentist appointment. After that I was really ready to get out of here and cruise with Robby. Almost immediately as I turned the corner it started sprinkling but I didn't care. As I got to the lagoon the sprinkle turned into showers but I still kept going through the park on Bay Street and on down to the Santa Cruz wharf where I now it's pouring so I decided to turn back. By the time I got home I was drenched but I really needed to get out so it wasn't that bad. I rested for a bit before Theresa came in with me to bed and then I rested the rest of the evening.
Saturday was a really great day. I signed up for the Human Race and I'm kind of nervous about doing it by myself but I am going to do it. Cindy came in and got me up and drove Robby and I to the back end of natural Bridges State Park, the race begins in a parking lot across the street. I got registered and got my T-shirt and Rummy got his bandanna and we were off… I didn't take my Google Glass because I thought it was going to rain but of course it didn't and I was really sorry because I would've loved to have had pictures, it was so beautiful and I even saw a whale or two and an otter. After the race we cruised over to the Santa Cruz wharf, to the boardwalk and then home. Theresa had the evening off so Karen agreed to Come in, put me to bed, feed Robby and I, do some personal care and a really nice long hot bath. Since we started early I have the rest of the evening to relax and listen to an audiobook on how to have more patience with people. I don't have any pictures of this year but I found some pictures of when I did the Human Race in 2010 with the CCI Northern California group.

So cool, Tammie that you participated in that race! I don't like talking on the phone either; I am glad that sometimes people do business through texts, that I'm okay doing :)
Today was my first Mother's Day as a grandmother; my son and daughter in law had a baby back in February after Valentine's Day. We got to have dinner together and spend time together, along with a dear friend visiting from when we lived in Montana :)
