A month of CCI events…

Monday was a pretty good day. I changed my massages from Friday to Monday, Monday just seems like a better day. After my massage got dressed and got up and went to Costco with Kelly to get supplies for the next three days, we are going to do a juice cleanse. After we came back we hung out on the porch for a while with Tom and uncle Dick, it felt so great to be out on my new porch. I took Robby for a cruise through the lagoon, through the lagoon Park, to the end of the wharf and home. Rosa came and put me to bed, I am excited about the juice detox.

Tuesday was a really good day, the first day of my juice cleanse. We are having two green drinks, two fruit drinks and a nut milk drink at the end of the day. I hear about them all the time and I always wanted to try one so I'm ready. After I go to I took Robbie for really long Cruz, our regular cruise around Santa Cruz. We came home and rested for a while and then headed back down to Hanger prosthetics, I just took a long cruise and forgot we had to go down there, Luckily Teresa met us with the van because Robbie was really tired and the battery on my chair was really low. Tom added more velcro to the front of my face because it wasn't sticking very well. Normally we would stop at Charlie Hong Kong's and get some noodles to bring but since I'm on the juice detox that wasn't going to happen. We came home and Teresa put me to bed.

Wednesday was another good day. I took Robby for really long cruise around the wharf then came home and rest for a while.  I took Robby over to Westside animal hospital for his annual checkup, I got a form from CCI saying that it was time. Robby is always a big hit at the vet and he got a clean bill of health. Normally we would go to the farmers market but there's too much tempting food around so we will wait until next week. I don't feel weak or dizzy or anything, actually I feel pretty good. We came home and rest for a while and then Rosa came to put me to bed. My uncle, Kelly, my mom and I played cribbage and I think I lost five dollars.

Thursday the weather was perfect. I got up and went to the movies with Tom and Kelly to see the family, I really enjoyed it. We came home and Teresa came by to put me to bed. We did some personal care, shaving, zapping… The best part was at the end of all of it I got a nice long hot bath, it felt great.

Friday was a great day and the weather was beautiful. My first day back eating after three days and I'm surprisingly not very hungry. I had some oatmeal for breakfast and that filled me up, two tacos for lunch and two tacos some mashed potatoes and avocados for dinner. I took Robby for really long cruise through the lagoon, to the lighthouse and back, to the boardwalk in back and then to the wharf and back home to rest for a while. They are all finished out back with Robby's new dog run, it looks great and he loves it. He kept rolling around and running and playing, it was so cute… I'm so glad it is still clean. Rosa put me to bed and I just relaxed the rest of the evening.

Saturday was such a great day, I have been waiting for this for long time. I got up and Teresa brought egg and bacon bagels from the bakery as well as coffee, it tasted so good. We headed out for the CCI DogFest Walk ‘n Roll 2013 and of course I took my Google glass so I could get some really good pictures. We got there and the place was packed, and really nice site to see. I ran into some people I knew and got to meet some people that I met online. We visited for a while, got Robby's toenails done and his teeth brushed and then it started to really rain, I couldn't believe it was going to rain on this day. My occupational therapist from when I was in the Independent living Center showed up, I haven't seen her for 10 years or more so it was really great to see her. She has three sons now and they made a big poster that said team Robby, They were all so sweet. We got to see James, Robby's trainer, and Lauren, one of the other team trainers… It was really great to see them both. I hope to get more pictures of James and Robby but everything went by too fast and then it started pouring rain so we just left. We had plans to go to Mountain View to a Ramen noodle place that we found a while back but the traffic was so bad we decided to just turn around and come home. On the way we decided to stop at Charlie Hong Kong's and get some noodles, we had noodles on the brain. Teresa put me to bed and it was still early so I was able to relax the rest of the evening, it felt great.

Sunday was a nice relaxing day. I decided to stay in bed and relax for the day. Karen came in and we did some personal care and I got to have a nice long hot bath, now I will be fresh and ready for next week. I watched a couple of movies on lifetime that I had recorded, I go through every once in a while and record the ones that I haven't yet seen and watch them when I have a day off.

It is so awesome to have family but when they leave…

Monday was still another great day. I got up and my brother, JohnPatrick and I decided to drive along Highway nine and look for red wood pieces. We just entered highway nine when the traffic stop, after about 10 minutes we decided to turn around… I later learned that there was a fatal accident on Bearcreek Road. We went to Costco instead and did some shopping and ate hot-dogs, pizza and chicken bake. We came home and I rested for a while and then took Robby for a cruise, it was really nice because the boardwalk was totally empty so we had some fun and took some pictures with Google glass. Rosa came and put me to bed. Since we did everything yesterday we got done quick and I got to relax for a while.

Tuesday was a really good day, the weather was kind of cold. I had an appointment with Andrei and Jack to get my chair fixed, the foot pedals were too long and the laterals needed to be adjusted. Apparently Jack just moved in to some apartments the next street over, I wish I had known he was looking for a place because my aunt and uncle have one available. I think he's locked into six months but we'll see what happens after that. Everything got fixed and my chair felt great. Robby and I cruised down there and back. We came back home and rested for a while and hung out with my brother. We decided to go down to the wharf and have some clam chowder for dinner so we all piled in the van and went down there. We came back and Teresa put me to bed.

My brother and JohnPatrick were supposed to leave about 3:30 AM to catch their flight but they couldn't find the keys so they decided to just go back to sleep. They woke up and found them and just caught a later flight. I decided to just stay in bed. We did some personal care and I got to take a nice long hot bath so it was worth it. The concrete slab is dry so the guys are out there today putting up the rails, it looks really nice, I had Karen sneak out there while they were at lunch and take a picture so I could see. Lee and Claudia, my uncle and aunt and my mom and I played cribbage, uncle Dick was my partner and we lost three dollars… Will get them next time.

Thursday was a really great day. I got up and took Robby for a cruise through the Lagoon, up to the lighthouse and back, to the end of the wharf and back and then home. Teresa came by and got me and we went to Scotts Valley to get Robbie's food, that is the closest place that carries it. I wanted to check out a couple of shops I saw in Los Gatos that has Halloween decorations, I saw them the other day when Dave took me to Apple. Of course they were really small and with my chair and Robbie we didn't fit in there very well so we went down to the Los Gatos brewing Company and had a burger and fries. We decided to go to the Spirit store to see what they have and right next door was Beverly's fabrics and big lots. We went into lots first and they had pretty much everything that we need but we went into Beverlys to get something we could use for a horse's mane for Robby, He is going to be pokey for Halloween and I am going to be Gumby, although he tried a few more costumes on.. We went into the Halloween store and of course found a couple of things that we couldn't do without, mostly we just wanted to look. We came home and Teresa put me to bed. I can't wait to start decorating for Halloween the beginning of next month. They finished the extension on the deck today and it looks great, I can't wait to break it in.

Friday was a great day. I got dressed and got up and took Robby for a really really long cruise, he is such a good boy. Tom and Kelly made it home, they went to Sacramento to work for a couple of days, and we got to chat for a while and sit on the new deck. Tracy came by and put me to bed and we did some personal care.

Saturday was a really great day. I took Robby for a long cruise through the Lagoon, past the Light House and back, down to the end of the wharf and back, down to the end of the boardwalk and back home. I wanted to make sure he got enough exercise and felt comfortable and not answering. Teresa came over and we met Alex at the Kaiser Arena and walk down to Betty's burgers. It was Alex's birthday and she wanted to go see the derby girls, I had seen them once before and it's an amazing event. We had a really good time and ran into a bunch of people that I know from around Santa Cruz, We will right in the front row and hoping that we would get derby girl in our lap. Teresa drove me home and put me to bed, what a great day.

Sunday was kind of a disappointing day. After the great evening last night I came home and there was a message from my morning caregiver saying that it would really be nice if I stayed in bed because she was really tired and didn't want to come in. What do you say to that? I had plans to go with Kathy and Tom to Felton, finally I was going to get to go cruise around in the redwoods and take pictures with my Google glass. I slept on and off most of the day and then Rosa came in and we did some personal care and I got to take a nice long hot bath, that felt amazing.

Let the construction began…

Monday was another great day. I got up and they were tearing down the rails on my ramp and part of my patio, they are definitely going to pour the concrete this week. We all decided to go out to breakfast, it's so nice to have everybody around. We had to wait but it was a great breakfast. I had an egg, bacon and avocado burrito that it was so big I could only eat half… But of course I ate all of the hash browns. We came back and I decided to take Robby for cruise through the lagoon, to the lighthouse and to the end of the wharf and back. It kept going from hot to cold, the sun came out every once in a while but it was really muggy. Rosa came to put me to bed and we all decided to play cribbage, it was my uncle and aunt, David and Grant that my mom and I. Grant had never played before but he caught on really quick and I think they even won a couple of games, he was my aunt's partner.

Tuesday was another great day. I got up in time to say goodbye to my nephew David and his friend Grant, there was such a nice visit with them. They started setting up the frame to pour the concrete, it's really getting exciting. I took Robby for a cruise through the lagoon and to the end of the wharf and back, it was already getting hot. We rested for a bit and then went with Tom and Kelly down to the tie-dye shop, a brighter world, to get some more of my shirts that Jeremy dyed, I just let him do whatever he wants and they all look great. I think I'll take some pictures of them to put on my blog. Kelly went with me down to tonic to make an appointment to get my hair dyed and cut, it has been way too long and I can see lots of grey. The lady that did it the last time, Heidi, wasn't there anymore so I'm going to try Kay. We came home and rested again and Rosa came to put me to bed.

Wednesday I stayed in bed. I knew it would be the last day I would be able to stay in bed and relax for a while. I just slept on and off all day and at night Lee and Claudia, my uncle and Kellly and my mom and I played cards, my aunt was unable to play so Kelly filled in.

Thursday was a great day. Teresa and I went to San Francisco and cruise around and bought some cowgirl cheese and some salami. We had Ramen soup for lunch and checked out the farmers market then went to the succulent farm and saw a bunch of great ideas, I think I might have these guys redo my front yard. My cousins are going to design it for me but I need to find somebody to actually do the work and these guys seem to do a great job. I think I might have to wait a while because my computer crashed and I had to buy a new one but at least I will have the design. We had dinner at a place called show dogs that Teresa saw on diners, drive-ins and dives, the food was awesome. We came home and Teresa put me to bed, everything was perfect today.

Friday was another great day. I got my haircut and dyed and the lady did a great job. I took Robby for a cruise and Tom texted me and said that my brother and my nephew were here from Georgia. We visited for a while, it was so nice to see both of them. My brother Stanley and my nephew David came from Modesto to spend the night.

Saturday was yet another great day. I got up early and standing me breakfast, eggs and bacon. My computer crashed Wednesday evening so we decided to drive to Los Gatos to the Apple store and get a new one. We took it to get repaired and apparently you're supposed to take it in every four months to get the dust blown out of it, mine is about five years old and I have never done that, The cost of the repair would be a little less than buying a new one. I got a really nice one that runs faster than the screen is bigger so I am happy. We all went over to my aunts for dinner and had hamburgers, stuffed pasta shells, a killer salad that Kelly me and fruit. My brother Stanley and David decided to drive home because they both have appointments on Sunday but it was great to see them again.

Sunday was another great day. I got up early again and Tom, Kelly, David, JohnPatrick, Seth and I went to Zachary's for breakfast. we ended up waiting about an hour so Seth went home because he had an appointment. We had a killer breakfast and a great visit and then walked back home. Kelly made a corn beef brisket so we have that for dinner plus mashed potatoes and gravy and corn on the cob.
