A week of appointments…

Monday was a pretty good day. Karen came in and got me up, it was really nice to not have to do my personal care... We got it out of the way yesterday.  The Woofpack came and picked up Robby for the Monday cruise so I was solo. I cruised down to the wharf, I didn't want to use up my battery so I just cruise around there pretty much all day. Usually, I just cruise through but today I took a lot of time to just sit back and enjoy the view, I need to do that more often because it was really relaxing. Mostly I did it because driving in the chair was really painful with this big stress lump I have on the back of my shoulder, I never know when or how bad it's going to flare up but I have learned that mostly it's the cold or wind that aggravates it. I did come back once to charge my chair for an hour and I'm glad I did because Rosa texted me and said she wasn't coming in until 6 PM, I was actually glad because it means I get to cruise around a little bit longer... I just wish my batteries would last longer. They brought Robby back while I was out cruising, when I got back we hung out in the yard for a while and went over some commands. Robby is retired and I have been neglecting his commands for a while but I want to get back into it, he remembered everything. Omar and his friend came by to measure the flooring in my house since I'm going to be gone for two weeks I decided it might be a good time to redo the hardwood floors downstairs and upstairs… My mom is going to stay across the street in the back house for a while. Rosa came in and put me to bed, earlier I took to gabapentin and a lorazepam because my shoulder hurts so much… When I'm in that much pain my anxiety goes through the roof.  Needless to say, as soon as Rosa got me in bed I was out, she tried to wake me up to eat but she said she just couldn't do it. Eventually, I woke up and ate and then I was out again, at least the pain is gone.

Tuesday was a pretty good day. Cindy came in and got me up and I took Robby for a cruise down to the wharf, over to the boardwalk and home. I wanted to get in a little bit of a cruise before Cindy took me shopping and then over to my appointment with Dr. Jett, she is always so nice and so happy to see me. She thanked me for helping out with the support group and then she helped me out with the pain on the back of my shoulders and she's going to help me out with a homeopathic doctor that she used when she has colon cancer, she said it will help me with my gas and bloating. Cindy brought me home and I left Robby here while I cruised back down to the wharf and back one more time, just because I can. Rosa came in and put me to bed and fed me and I fell asleep watching TV.

Wednesday was a pretty good day. Karen came in and we did some personal care and I wanted to take a shower instead of a bath so I can get out of here earlier since I had to be back at 2 PM. We cruised down to the wharf and as I was cruising back I noticed that the Velcro on Robby's vest had come off and flipped around so I decided I better cruise home and see if I can find somebody to fix it, on the way home through Depot Park I ran into a couple of guys working in one of them helped me out so I didn't have to cruise all the way home. we turned around and went back to the wharf and just tilted back and relaxed and enjoyed the view for a while. I came home and Karen put me back to bed so my chart would be empty so Daniel can finally replace the batteries. Susan came in to give me a nice long massage, it felt great! Karen came back after Susan left and got me something to eat. I watched TV until I fell asleep.

Thursday was a pretty messed up day. Karen came in and got me up and I took Robby for a cruise thinking I have my new fully charged batteries to go all day, I was wrong. We cursed through the lagoon and to the end of the wharf and back before cruising downtown to my appointment with my psychologist after tilting back to rest for 15 minutes I noticed that my battery is almost dead… I didn't even have enough battery to come back home and get my hair funnel before my next appointment to get my haircut. Luckily my appointment was right across the street from where my psychologist is. Carol, my psychologist said she would drive to my house and pick up my hair final for me… How sweet is that?? I messaged the receptionist at Numotion, I didn't expect anything to happen and I was totally shocked when Daniel sent me a message that he was trying to call… I take back some of the bad things I said about the receptionist. I told Daniel that I had an appointment and I would text him when I was done and that I didn't have enough battery to get home. I texted him when I was on my way home and he met me here to check all of the connections, check the battery and you left me alone or charger… Maybe it's the battery charger? It's a little frustrating that it took six weeks after calling to let them know that my battery is dying after 4 miles because the receptionist said Daniel had to come out to verify it was the batteries, I'm wondering why this wasn't all checked out before they order batteries? Robby and I hung out in the driveway for a little while until Rosa came in to put me to bed. I was really tired and fell asleep before she left.

Friday was a pretty good day. Karen came in and we did some personal care and I got to take a nice relaxing hot bath. She got me dressed and Daniel came by to take my chair for a spin and see if the batteries are going to hold a charge, he said it looks like they are going to. Karen got me up and Robby and I took off for a cruise through the lagoon, about halfway down Westcliff Drive, to the end of the wharf and back and over to the boardwalk… It was so nice to go on such a long cruise again. I rested for a bit and then Karen got me something to eat before I headed back down to the boardwalk for the concert on the beach. Trish messaged me and said that she wasn't going to make it to the concert and it wasn't really one that I wanted to go to, plus after going 8 miles I was tired and my chair was low on battery… I know I could have made it but I just really wasn't into going to this concert so I cruised home and had Teresa come in early, she brought her daughter and her new adorable Pomeranian puppy… It was so cute. She put me to bed and fix me some dinner and I was out, the muscle in the back of my shoulder is starting to hurt less and less every day. I can't wait to get back home after two weeks in Santa Rosa to get my successor dog and start exercising, I just want everything to get back to normal… Whatever normal is four around here.

Saturday was a sad day. Cindy came in and got me up and took Robby and me over to Costco and then to Tim and Allison's, they're going to keep him for a couple of weeks. They live in Felton and their place is awesome! Nice and cool down in the reference in their yard is amazing! So sweet and inviting and comfortable! Of course, Robby made himself at home and him and Jim became fast friends, they have about four dogs there and there are also sweet. Cindy brought me back home and I sat out back with Stanley and Janet for a while going over the itinerary, they are going to drive us to Santa Rosa and Stanley is going to come for the outings. I just needed to get away for a little bit so I cruised down to the wharf and back, it was so crowded… I definitely got my fill of people for a while. Theresa put me to bed and her daughter came in with the cutest little puppy, they were here yesterday but I forgot to take pictures so tonight and took pictures for sure. I got a big spinach salad, some ribs and already made sandwiches from Costco and they were awesome! I've been craving ribs for the last couple of days and Cindy and I were talking about them on the way to Felton so of course when I saw them at Costco I had to get them, they were so tender and delicious. My mom, Stanley, Janet and I played cribbage for a while. Janet was my partner and we did pretty well. My mom put on my CPAP machine and I was gone.

Sunday was a pretty good day. Cindy came in and got me up and I went for a cruise down to the wharf, my last cruise for a couple of weeks. At home they are emptying out my house to redo the wood floors and packing up the van for our trip to CCI in Santa Rosa to get my successor dog. I came back home to rest for a while and then we were off, I thought I was going to be a long trip but it wasn't that bad and we got here way early. We let ourselves in the gate with a code and found where the door to our room is but it didn't open until 5 p.m. and it was only 3:30 p.m. so we headed back out to get something to eat, we wanted to go shopping but we want to see what the kitchen looks like and how much room we will have to store stuff because I know I will probably buy way too much food. We came back and met the caretaker Joe, he does pretty much everything around here and is such a sweet man. He showed us around and we checked out the kitchen and went back to Trader Joe's to do some shopping for some food for the rest of the week. We put our groceries away and then loaded everything into our room, they are really nice. Really big rooms and huge bathrooms with three beds and each room has their own little patio in the back. Savannah came and we got to meet her, she is so sweet. We had a little problem with the lift and the bed, the lift doesn't really go underneath the bed and doesn't Lift Me Up high enough but we made it work.

Oh wow, Tammie, how exciting to get a successor dog. Wonder how Robby will feel about it? Hope the training goes well with it! Such a cute puppy!!
