Finishing up and unpacking…

Monday was a pretty good day. It was supposed to be warm so I wanted to get up early and cruise around before it got too hot, it ended up being 80°. I always like going for a cruise after the weekend is over because it's not as crowded but there is a lot of maintenance work done on Mondays. I came back and rested for a while and Heather came to visit, she came back a couple of days early from her vacation so she told me all about it… It sounds like she had a really great time. Rosa came and put me to bed and I just rested for the rest of the evening.

Tuesday I got up and took Robbie for really long cruise, through the lagoon, up through Bay St., Park, along with Cliff and back, to the end of the wharf and back and home. I can tell that Robby is getting old because I had to slow down to 4 miles an hour and he gets tired a lot quicker, maybe it's just because it's summer and were out and about a lot more than we are during the winter? I hope that's the case because we love cruising around during the summer. I came back home and Teresa and I did payroll, she put me to bed and we did some personal care. I think I fell asleep before she even left.

Wednesday to a little bit longer to get up because we forgot to charge my chair on Tuesday Evening. We went on our regular long cruise and I ran into more people than I usually do. I ran into Andrew and Raul at the lagoon and again upon Westcliff Drive. Andrew lives around the corner from me and they both work for the city of Santa Cruz, cruising around doing just about everything. At the beginning of Westcliff I ran into Katran, the realtor that helped me find this place. We talked for a little bit and we cruised on. At the lighthouse Museum I ran into Tim, he gives to wares on the Segways, I see them cruising all over town and he stops and talks to me whenever he can. I curse back and we rested for a bit. It looks like they are done painting my house and now they are putting everything back together, they are moving my furniture back tomorrow. It feels like a whole new house. Vicente was putting the things back on the wall and hanging the curtain rods back up, he came in to hang the blades back on my fan… They painted the same color as the trim and I love it. I decided to take Robby for one more cruise through the lagoon before was time for Rosa to come and put me to bed. Usually I just cruised right through but this time I decided to stop and just enjoy the sun for a while and watch the ducks and the turtles, I have never done that before and it was very relaxing. It seems to me like I'm always in a hurry, trying to get somewhere are trying to get home, and I don't know why. It seems like wherever I am want to be somewhere else. I'm going to try to make myself stop and relax and not be in such a hurry. I slowed my chair down from 6 miles an hour to 4 miles an hour and sometimes it's a frustrating but I think it's going to be okay once I get used to it. I came back and Rosa put me to bed and heated me up some spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread and salad that Teresa had made the other day. Lee and Claudia, my uncle and aunt and my mom and I played cribbage. Lee was my partner and we lost a dollar but we had fun and I got a lot of compliments on my new place. My arms were really sore from having the windows open all day, the warm wind is okay but the cold wind just seems to make the muscles in my arms tighten up.

Thursday was a great day. I got up and wanted to get out of the way because they were finally moving all of my furniture back into my house, I'm so excited to almost have my home back to normal. I went for cruise through the lagoon, up to Bay St. Park, to the end of the wharf and back and home. I wanted to be around as much as possible in case they needed to be reminded where anything went but also wanted to be out of the way so they can do what they needed to do. I came back and rested for a while and then went on another cruise, the same route. On the way back home I ran into Melanie, I met Melanie a couple of years ago at the lagoon. She works for mosquito abatement and keeps the lagoon stocked with fish that eat the mosquitoes, I told her that I had a little pond that I could see mosquito larvae in and asked her if I could have a few fish, she has been bringing them by my house ever since. She stopped me to let me know that I wouldn't see her for a while because she was going on maternity leave soon, her first baby she says. I asked her when the baby was due and she said June 19th, I said "oh my God, my birthday is June 18th, you're going to have a Gemini baby your lucky lady. Unfortunately I didn't get to talk to her for very long because cars were backing up behind her but I know I will see her again. I came back home and rested for a while and decided to go hang out at the lagoon for a while, it was really pleasant yesterday's ongoing to start doing it more often. As beautiful as this place is there is not a lot of people there and I like that. I came back and Teresa put me to bed and started to put my house back together, I didn't realize how much stuff I had and how much stuff I need to get rid of.

Friday was of course massage day. I decided to get a massage only one day for two hours instead of two days, that way I don't have to stay in bed more than one day a week while the weather is nice. When the concert starts I will just get up later on Fridays because I don't usually get back home until 8 PM, I love being able to stay up later. Karen came in early to give Robby a bath and cut his toenails, actually drummel his toenails. I rested for a bit and watch Dr. Phil. Teresa came by to give me a bath and put my kitchen back together, it always feels so great to have a bath and it's nice to get my kitchen back. The girls have been doing pretty much everything in my bedroom. I had the toaster oven, the coffee pot and the kettle to make my tea right next to my bed. A couple more days and I think everything will be back to normal around here, whatever normal is for around here. Robby was acting really weird today, every time somebody would move or get up he would jump up and follow them. We took them out to go potty several times but that didn't seem to be what he wanted, we even gave him some coconut chips but it still didn't change his behavior. We did put his food container outside to fill up and for a while we thought that's what it was because we saw a cat trying to eat out of it but we chase the cat away, filled it out and brought it in and he was still acting weird. I had some artichoke bottoms so Teresa chopped up some roasted garlic and added butter, cream cheese and Parmesan cheese… They were so good but I had to stop myself from eating more than one or I would probably be sorry tomorrow morning. She made me a couple more for tomorrow night.

Saturday was a great day. The weather was beautiful, there was a nice breeze and I FINALLY got to go to Costco. I was pretty much out of everything. We filled up the cart and decided we needed to come back the next day because we needed more stuff. Of course we got a chicken bake and got back just in time to rest for a bit before Rosa came to put me to bed. I thought it would be a lot more crowded at Costco because it was Memorial Day weekend but it wasn't that bad at all, it only took us an hour. Rosen came and we did some personal care and I ate a chicken bake, you can buy them frozen and bring them home but they're just not as good as when you get them at Costco. It was late by the time Rosa left and I was exhausted so I fell right to sleep.

Santa Cruz was so crazy on Saturday I decided to just stay in bed on Sunday. I thought it was going to be a relaxing normal day but it turned out to be one of the most exciting days in my life. I got an email from Google glass that said I have 14 days to go to Google headquarters in Mountain View and pick up my Google class. I picked June 4th so I would have them in time for the R puppy reunion. One time we were passing through and Teresa and I found a really awesome Ramen noodle place in Mountain View so we will probably hit that place also. Appointment isn't until 2 PM so we should be able to eat and shop for a little bit before we go.Rosa came and wanted everything outside and cleaned up my porch and put it back together, she is amazing. Heather came by and made some lamb chops, fresh corn on the cob… Off the cob, roasted potatoes and greens for dinner for me. Needless to say it was amazing! I was just complaining about it being Memorial Day and I wasn't going to have any barbecue and Heather came by and made it all perfect. I'm glad she's back in and thought she had a good time in Hawaii.

This is going to be a terrific week…

Monday was another great day… Just keep them coming. I got up and took Robby for cruise through the Lagoon, down Westcliff Drive,  to the wharf and back and then came home for a rest. I went over to look at my new floors , they look amazing. I can't wait to get it painted and move back in. Rosa called and said that she was still at the hospital and she had been there for five or six hours and she would call me when she was done. Of course when I tried to call her back my phone was dead. I went outside and nobody was around and came back in and there was no phone. So I was kind of freaking out. After a while my aunt came back so I have her plug in my phone and call Rosa back. She went to the hospital with one of the residence where she works, that's a relief. I thought something happened to her or somebody in her family. We decided to play a couple of games of cribbage while waiting for her, my aunt was my partner we won one and lost one. Rosa showed up amd fed me some gumbo and put me to bed. I have been sleeping really good, I have been asleep before my caregivers leave.

I thought Tuesday was going to be a little cold but it turned out to be a great day. Robby and I went for a cruise through the lagoon and up and around the Lagoon Park and back home to rest for a little bit. My phone hasn't been working so we took a cruise down to four Schneiders pharmacy to see if my socks came in yet but they have not so we turned around and came back home. I cruised over to see the progress on my house and they were getting ready to paint my bedroom. Hopefully I will be able to move back home tomorrow. Teresa showed up and then Rosa showed up . Teresa had asked Rosa a couple weeks ago if she would work for her on the 14th, last night Teresa couldn't remember why. So both of them fought over who was going to go home, Teresa one. Rosa put me to bed and we did some personal-care and I fell asleep.

Wednesday was another great day. I thought it was going to be cold when I started out on our cruise but it got warmer. We cruised through the lagoon and up through the Lagoon Park and down Westcliff. I always see the sign across the street that says lighthouse State Park beach but never went over there so we decided to go, there's a bunch of trails and they started getting really thin and really rocky so we turned around and came back. We came back here and rested for a while. I was going to meet Rosa at the flea market but I think we got our times mixed up so I waited half an hour and then came back. They got my room painted and they're moving stuff out of the bathroom to paint that so it looks like I will be moving in tomorrow. My uncle and aunt and my mom and I played cribbage, my mom was my partner and I think we came out the dollar ahead.

Thursday was a pretty crazy day. I got up and came across the street to wait for Jack from ATG rehab to do some work on my chair. He customize the OtterBox for my new iPhone five and put toe straps on my foot pedals to keep my toes straight. It was supposed to install a new back on my chair that has laterals already built in, the back that was already on my chair is broken. He ended up not putting them back on my chair because he said he had not heard about it and he had another appointment in Watsonville and didn't have time. When I called Andrei he was pissed because he says he has already worked it out with Eric and Jack. Now we have to reschedule. We check out my new iPhone five and plugged in the computer and downloaded all my information and the screen was really dark and I couldn't get any service so Robby and I cruised down to the AT&T store. The guy looked at it and then took out the little card and said there was nothing he could do because there was water damage, it had been wrapped up in the box since I got it so it didn't happen at my house. Teresa spent about three hours on the phone and they said that since I didn't open it up right away and check within 14 days the phone was not covered. I bought the phone back in November and wanted to wait until I got my new chair and get the adaptions to make it work. I just got it done today and took it out of the box. Finally Teresa got a hold of someone and they said I could go to the Apple Store in Los Gatos and pick up my new iPhone five, my aunt is going to get it tomorrow. I just love having people around that know how to talk to other people and get what they want. I decided to come and try sleeping in my new bedroom and I LOVE it. Teresa put me to bed and did some personal care and I just relaxed the rest of the evening and enjoyed my new room, it is such a big difference. I took pictures but of course it's on my old phone and they are no good anymore so I'll see if Karen will take some more tomorrow. Good night…

Friday was a pretty good day. Susan had to cancel my massage because her daughter had the stomach flu, I was really looking forward to a massage. Sleeping in was really nice, I got to sleep in until 10:30 AM. Karen came in and helped me get service on the phone that might have brought back from the Apple Store this morning. We went to plug it into the computer and the cord is missing, why does there always have to be something?? My answer is that the guy didn't take any cords out of the box, he just took the phone off the top and replaced it so the court has to be around here somewhere. Unfortunately if we cannot find it I'm not going to be able to get to the AT&T store until Monday. I listen to the radio last night because my TV wasn't hooked up but that's okay because I fell asleep pretty quick. Karen plugged in my TV this morning so I could listen to that but I still didn't have my surround sound hooked up, you don't know what you have until you don't have it for a couple of days. She also tried to hook up my surveillance cameras, I didn't realize how much I watch those, but she didn't get it hooked up…Vincente hooked it up before he went home at the end of the day, he also hooked up my surround sound so my room is getting pretty much back to normal. They painted the hallway and the living room today so it's just a matter of time before everything is done and we can get back to a normal life around here, not that we ever have a normal life around here. Most of the stuff we put out in the garage and a lot of it we put on the back porch so we are really going to go through it and get rid of a lot more stuff that I really don't need, I am in the mood to do it. I just can't get over how much I love the color of my new house inside, it's just perfect. Teresa came by and we took the rest of my stuff out of my aunts house and we will put it away as we can, we want to take our time so we don't start just the thing things away again. The rest of the evening and just relaxed and trying to catch up on some of my TiVoed shows, I missed a whole week so there's a lot of shows that I need to catch up on. It looks like I will have all day tomorrow as Adriana cannot make it and neither can Karen or Teresa. I think it will be nice to have a quiet around here for a whole day, we'll see if that really happens.

Saturday was a nice relaxing day. I got to sleep in until 9:00 AM and then I got a two hour massage, I needed one so bad. My mom got me some coffee and I wasn't really hungry so I decided to wait until dinner. Teresa made some garlic roasted chicken thighs and a Mediterranean salad, it was so good. Rosa came and we did some personal care and I got to have a nice long hot that, such a perfect way to enter relaxing day. Now to see what's going on at the Bates Motel.

Sunday was kind of disappointing day. I didn't notice last night but my evening caregiver left my bedroom door open and I was breathing paint fumes all night. I woke up with a headache and stomach ache but didn't really associate with anything until my morning caregiver said that she needed to open all the windows, turn the fan on and go outside for a while. I can't see the door to my bedroom because the computer monitor is in the way. I got up anyway hoping to go to Costco and that didn't happen either, I am almost out of everything. I started to take Robby for cruise and stop by to talk to my uncle for a couple of minutes and as we were cruising down towards the lagoon I got a text from Angie. Her, her mom and the twins were right around the corner so I turned back just in time to see them turned down our street. I visited with them for a while at my uncles and then Robby and I went on our cruise through the lagoon, up to the Lagoon Park and down Westcliff Drive. I noticed a bunch of people running towards me and they had a table set up and they were handing people cups of Gatorade as they went by so I decided to turn around and go towards the war. I realize that they were running towards the wharf so we crossed over the bridge and came on home, it was getting really warm bed it was almost time for Rosa to come in. I rested for a bit and then started feeling worse, my headache and stomach ache so I went outside to hang out for a while. I started feeling better by the time Rosa got here so she put me to bed and heated up some spaghetti and meatballs, salad and garlic bread and a salad… Okay she didn't heat up the. I watched a bunch of shows on TiVo and just relax for the rest of the evening.

It looks like were back to cold weather again…

Monday was just a relaxing day. I haven't had very good luck with personal care lately so today was an exhausting day. I'm glad we got everything done, including a nice long hot bath so I am ready for tomorrow. Just get dressed, get up and go. It looks like the temperature is going to be in the high 60s this week, I don't know what is worse… 60° or 90°.

Tuesday Vicente brought to his friends over to start putting all of my furniture in the garage so they can start sending the floors on Wednesday. I didn't think it would take up that much room but my garage is full and my house is very empty. I was sitting in my empty living room just thinking about when the last time I select that empty was, right before I moved in. That was almost 6 years ago. I really love my home and I can't wait to see it after the floors are redone and it's painted. The weather was actually really nice so Robbie and I took a really long cruise. I came back and Teresa for me to bed and cleaned out a couple more classes, I think we are ready.

Wednesday was a good day but a little cold. The guys showed up at 8 AM and started sanding the floor. I thought there was in a be a lot more sawdust floating around but I guess now they have bags on everything so it's not that bad. They decided to take out the refrigerator and the stove and I'm glad they did because I thought it might look weird if they didn't. The guy seems to really know what he's doing. Robbie and I went for a really long cruise because I didn't want to stick around because it was really loud and I thought sawdust would be everywhere. We started to go down by the lighthouse but they were doing some work in the walkway was blocked so we went down to the wharf and the Boardwalk, I was glad it wasn't really that crowded. As soon as school lets out it's going to be crazy. Laid back on the boardwalk for a while and just enjoyed being in the sun and listening to the seals around the wharf. I came back and Rosa put me to bed and got me something to eat. They moved to the refrigerator out on the back porch but I had already put everything from the refrigerator into the refrigerator in the garage. We set up everything in my room and the microwave on the back porch so were trying to get used to that. And I went on vacation to Hawaii yesterday for 2 1/2 weeks so Teresa is going to cook for me. My uncle and aunt came over and we played about four games of cribbage, my aunt was my partner and I think we lost three.

Wednesday was another great day. Robby and I went out for a long cruise through the Lagoon, down the wrong Westcliffe, to the doctor wharf and back into the into the boardwalk and back. I came back and went to hang out in my room for a while but the smell was really toxic, they had stained the front of the house. I went outside for a while and opened all the doors and turned a bunch of fans on and open the windows hoping maybe it would not be so bad but there was no way I was going to be able to stay here tonight. I waited until Teresa came by and we tried a couple times but we decided we needed to either go to a hotel or go across the street to my uncles house and stay. Teresa went upstairs to check on my mom and it wasn't that bad up there and I didn't want to stay in a hotel by myself so I called my aunt and they said I could stay across the street house. Luckily the kid that stays there was gone for the weekend and they were going to have the girls that next week so it turned out great. We had to break out the traveling mattress and the portable lift and luckily they both worked perfectly. have a really hard time staying anywhere that is not my bedroom so I thought it was going to be a rough night but it was very comfortable and I slept great, maybe because I took all of PMs because I had a headache.

Friday was another great day. Using the portable lift and the extra mattress is kind of a pain, it really makes you appreciate the easy life that you have at home. I'm so glad that the weather is finally getting the nice. I got up and took Robbie for a cruise down past the lighthouse and then to the boardwalk and then to the wharf.I came back to my uncle house and rested for a while and I was going to meet Teresa at OfficeMax to get a chair mat so it would be easier to roll the lift on the carpet but my uncle said he had a big piece of plywood and that worked even better. I met Theresa for some sushi and we came back and put me to bed and then she left, her allergies are really bad too tired.

Saturday was such a great day. got up, ate breakfast and took Robby for a really long cruise through lagoon, down past the lighthouse  museum, to the end of the wharf and back… He was really tired. We rested for a while and went for another cruise down Westcliff Drive, down to the end of the boardwalkand on the way back and we stopped at the  Monterey Bay Marine sanctuary, I have been wanting to stop by there for a long time so I finally decided to just do it. It was pretty cool. There was a lot of really cool exhibits and a 15 minute movie that had some really awesome shots in it.Teresa and Rosa came by and some personal care. I think I fell asleep before they even left, I have been sleeping really good here. I'm pretty sure it's because I don't have all the distractions that I have at home, the computer and TV.

Sunday was another awesome day. I got up and took a long cruise through the lagoon and to Westcliff Drive . As I was cruising along Westcliff Drive I got a text from Angie and she said she was on her way over to Mobos so I went over there to meet her, her mom, Peter in the kids for lunch. Robby and I cruised down to the wharf to wave at Angie from her boat but we didn't see her so we turned around. I ran into Dr. Owens on the way, it was really great to see her… It has been a while. She's done remodeling her house so she was talking about having a barbecue, it's that time of year again. Every once in a while I run into this guy named. He and his partner Tammy train and give guidance on the segues down by the wharf. He was saying that he wants to get the lab and he wanted to let me know that you finally. He was so excited. Teresa came by and got me something to eat and put into bed and that's all I remember…

Up in the 80s this week…

Monday ended up being a pretty relaxing day. Both the light rail and the Metro bus was late so of course so was Karen. I thought we were done with personal care from last night but apparently we weren't so we did more personal care this morning so needless to say I decided to stay in bed. I will be rested and ready to get up and go early the rest of the week, when it gets to be this warm outside I would rather get up early in the morning and cruise around before it gets too hot.

Tuesday was a perfect day. I got up and took Robby for a cruise through the lagoon, through the Lagoon Park, to the wharf and back. I keep getting emails from a representative of Google class wanting to talk to me about possibly receiving an early pair and I keep waiting around but he just doesn't call, he keeps emailing me and asking me when is a good time to chat. I finally told him to just call me and if I'm not around I will call him back, we can play phone tag instead of email tag. Teresa came and she took me over to Home Depot to pick out the paint for my room. We also got some more hoses and some containers to keep the hoses in, are there really any good hoses out there?? I think I have tried them all and I just can't find one that works right. We would to Charlie Hong Kong's and of course I got the same thing… Pad Thai noodles with garlic tofu, prawns and steamed vegetables. I went to bed and just relax for the rest of the evening.

Wednesday was an excellent day. I got up and cruise Robby through the lagoon and up to my doctor's office, I had a doctors appointment to get my Depo-Provera shot. After that we cruise down to the end of the wharf and back, to the end of the boardwalk and back and down to the pharmacy… The weather was just perfect and it's so nice to get out and cruise around all over town again. I came back and rose up from me to bed and fixed me something to eat, I was starving and cold by the time. Lee and Claudia, my uncle and aunt and my mom and I played cribbage… my aunt was my partner and we lost four dollars. While it was a good day except for that. Of course after I got home I remembered that the farmers market was today, I always forget about the farmers market.

Thursday was another gorgeous day in Santa Cruz California. I got up and took Robby for a cruise through the lagoon, up to the walking park and down Westcliff Drive. It was already getting really warm and I knew it would be cooler cruising along the beach, not to mention just gorgeous. There was a lot of people cruising around and everybody's dogs were behaving very nicely, I love that. We were going to go cruise down to the wharf but I think Robby was done and we had to get back home to make Teresa. We're cleaning up some more of the garage so I can put my furniture in there on Tuesday when they come to do my floors and paint the walls, I am so excited. Everything is going to look so great this summer. We did some personal care and trying to figure out what Teresa is going to cook for me while Heather is on vacation, it sounds like a lot of oriental food and I'm going to be one happy girl. I tried to go to sleep but I'm just excited about all the cool things that are going to happen, I love it when life is going great. I heard from Heather that my aunt hit somebody on a bicycle while turning down our street, there is an extremely steep hill and people just won't stop jamming down really fast, I bet somebody gets hit for crashes there at least twice a month. I saw a guy coming down the hill today with the soda in one hand and try to straighten out his wobbly bike with the other, people are just never going to learn. Most of them don't have helmets on either it is kind of a blind curve and with the sun shining… It's just very dangerous. I know my aunt is always very careful because she is always telling other people to be really careful, I hope she's all right. I have been playing email tag with the guy from Google class, I entered a contest to try out a peer earlier that they come out but with the way that we're going it's probably going to be the end of the year and I will just be able to purchase one. I decided to send him a long email to let him know that I am still interested, I hope I hear back from him again.

Friday was a really great day but it was HOT. Teresa took me over to the nursery to get some plants and some pots and then over to dig to get some airplanes and some succulents, though seem like they are the hardest to kill so maybe they will last longer in my yard. After that she took me over to Tonic to get my haircut, it has been getting really long and I just don't know what to do it anymore so I decided I would get layered for the summer. So far everybody says it looks really good so I'm happy. It turns out the really expensive shampoo that I have been using, Wen, isn't so good for your hair so now I have a bunch of it that I need to get rid of. She told me of another product called colorproof that is supposed to work a lot better and she used it on my hair, I think I will give it a try. After that we came home and I got a nice long hot bath, boy did that feel great.

Saturday Adriana came in at 4:30 AM so we could leave the house by 8 AM to go to the Carmel Retriever day. We actually left at 7:30 AM and got gas and even came back home because I forgot my sunglasses. It was a really beautiful day and a really nice event. I ran into Ed, then goodness because I have no idea where to go so I followed him… Turns out he lives right across the street. There wasn't a lot of people or dogs when I got there and I ran into Marv and Connie, I was hoping that they would be there. They took a bunch of pictures and then they did a parade but a lot of the other events weren't really for people in chairs. They went down on the beach and let the dogs play at the end of a long leash, another of it was a scavenger hunt and I didn't really think I could do that either. This was the first of many so I can't wait for the next one. We went by the mall here in Santa Cruz and I got a couple of things for Malaya's birthday, I hope she likes them. Rosa came by and we did some personal care and I got to relax for the rest of the evening.

Sunday I ended up staying in bed but as it turned out it was really cold and windy outside. Rosa wanted the evening off so I just had Adriana come in the morning to feed Robby and I. We had a birthday party for my cousin's youngest daughter, Malia. It was supposed to be on Saturday but since I went to the Carmel Retriever Day on Saturday so they changed it to Sunday. I decided to come home early on Saturday so I can go to the birthday party but when I got home I found out they changed it to Sunday, not knowing that I wasn't going to get up. It turned out really nice and everybody was so sweet to come over here and have the birthday party in my room. I just want to watch the excitement on the low girls face, she had such a good time and that's what matters. In barbecued some ribs and chicken and had baked potatoes, artichokes, garlic bread and a salad. It turned out to be a really great day.
