Countdown to Christmas…

Monday was a pretty good day. It's starting to get a little colder outside but I'm okay getting bundled up as long as it doesn't rain. Karen came in and we did some personal care and a nice long hot bath, sometimes I wish we could do the personal-care and bath at night so I can have more time during the day to run around with the boys. I keep saying I'm going to try taking them both at once but I think it's just too much of a risk? Taking them out 1 by 1 makes me really nervous because it's really hard to protect them in case another dog or something else comes to attack them. Robby and I took off for a cruise through Depot Park, down in front of the wharf, across the outside of the boardwalk and then home. Dude and I took off for a little bit longer cruise down to the end of the wharf and back and through the middle of the boardwalk and back. As much as Dude loves people I think it's going to cruise along the boardwalk when it's crowded and he can practice ignoring everybody. We cruised back home, I love being able to just turn on my heater with my cell phone and then by the time I get home my house is nice and toasty and warm. Rosa came in and fed the fur babies and then put me to bed and then fed me, I was so nice and warm I think I fell asleep before she left.

Tuesday was a pretty good day. Cindy came in and got me up after she fed everybody. The Woofpack came to pick up the boys and I was off to see Jessica, my hairstylist. I always seem to end up talking to the boys even though they're not around, I guess it's just habit? When I get to a crosswalk I tell them to "heal" and then when the light turned green I say "let's go"… The people that are around me must think I'm crazy. After my appointment Dude and I cruised down to the end of the wharf and back but I was just getting too cold so we came home and hung out in the driveway with Robby until Rosa came in to put me to bed. She scooted around for a little bit and I fell right to sleep.

Wednesday was a pretty good day. I had a really nice visit with my nephew Robert and his wife Mackenzie, they are so nice to have around! Unfortunately, it's time for them to go back home, we had a great time!  Susan came in to give me a nice long massage. Karen came in to feed the crew, this is her last day before her three-week vacation. We did some personal care and of course a nice long hot bath. She got me dressed and up in my chair and the termite guy showed up to check out my house, Omar was poking around under my mom's deck which is above my bedroom and found termites, his wife said found some in my furniture on the back porch… I never even thought about them going into the furniture but I know there a big problem around here. He said he would come back and spray or he could leave some spray here, I thought he should do it since he supposedly the expert. Robby and I took off for a cruise around Santa Cruz,  They both need to get out for some exercise, it's nice to be out and about with the boys! We came back and rested for a bit and then I took Dude out for a nice long cruise, the weather is getting a little cold but I found as long as I keep my neck and shoulders warm I'm pretty comfortable and I learned the hard way when I start getting too cold just to come home… It's even colder when you're outside cruising around at 8 miles an hour. Rosa came in and fed the hungry animals and then put me to bed and fed me. With all of the company and stuff going on around here I got behind on my blog which is always frustrating because it's hard to remember what I did, thank goodness for the pictures that I take or I wouldn't remember anything. I tried to catch up a little bit but I was just too tired and fell asleep.

Thursday was a pretty good day although it sent to see the kids go back home. Cindy came in, today is Karen's first day of vacation and fed everybody and then got me dressed and up ready for the day. I took Robby out for a nice long cruise and then came back and did the same with Dude, it was a really beautiful day. I took a bunch of pictures of the boardwalk so I decided to go across the street and see if I could get some different pictures. Google Glass takes such beautiful pictures! I cruised back home and rested for a while and the boys and I hung out in the sun in the driveway. I've been looking for a new caregiver for the weekend evening position, the one I have now I really like a lot but she found another job and wants to come and put me to bed at 2 PM on Fridays… Most days that's okay but I need to have the option to stay up longer especially during the summers because I go for a lot of concerts and outings on the weekends when it's nice. Lupe applied at Sunshine Villa, where Rosa works, but they didn't need anybody else so she got her phone number and we decided to give her a try. It's always awkward trying out a new caregiver, I wish there was a way I could just get a couple of weeks and already be familiar with her but since that isn't an option I will power through. After they left I was nervous and tense and fell asleep right away, for some reason when I'm uncomfortable or not feeling good I tend to sleep a lot. I'm also breaking out behind my ear really bad which I hear is from stress, frustration, and anxiety. Mackenzie sent me some pictures that she had taken while she was here and while we were out and about, we played cribbage one night and the cat decided to come in and sit on my bed and watch us… She is never done that before.

Mackenzie is always so sweet and thoughtful and really really creative. These are some of the projects that she did for Christmas, she sent me a bunch of pictures and they are just so beautiful! I feel like all of my nieces and nephews married the perfect person!

Friday I decided to stay in bed and rest, it's been a really long week not to mention cold and wet. Cindy came in and fed the crew and they fed me and the rest of the day I pretty much watch TV, edited pictures and worked on my blog… I think I'm a couple weeks behind but at least I have something to do while I'm stuck in bed? I've been wanting to watch a bunch of Christmas movies but I just never seem to get around to it so maybe this is a good weekend to stay in bed and watch movies? Theresa came in and fed everybody and did some laundry. The rest of the evening I just listen to Christmas music and edited my pictures on Google.

Saturday was another long day but at least I'm warm and dry. Cindy came in and fed everybody and turned me on my side for a while just for a change, set me back up and then went home. I wish I could just sleep when I stay in bed but of course, I don't, luckily I have the television and the computer to keep me busy… I just pretty much play games all afternoon. Theresa came in at 2 PM to feed the crew and do the program and a nice long hot bath, at least that makes the day go by faster. After my bath, I'm always nice and relaxed and I just listen to more music and watch some TV before I fell asleep.

Sunday was more of the same. I know I'm probably going to be sorry because usually when I stay in bed for a couple of days my stomach exploded and I'm uncomfortable but for now I'm nice and warm and keeping myself busy online. Cindy came in and fed everybody and did a couple of things around the house before she left. I watched TV and played some games on Facebook and maybe fell asleep a little. Theresa came in and fed everyone and did a little bit more laundry. After she left I could feel myself getting more and antsier, I'm going to try to get up tomorrow and at least take the boys for a cruise. When I don't get up my caregivers are awesome enough to take them outside and let them run for a little bit and play catch. Theresa came in and we did the usual stuff after she fed the fur crew. Cindy brought me some tamales so I have been eating those for breakfast, I love tamales! More TV watching, music playing, game playing and waiting for the night to be over.
