A little bitter rain and a little bit of sun…

Monday was a pretty good day. Karen got me dressed and then hung around to help Todd and Andrei make a mold of my butt for my new ride cushion, it went pretty fast and Todd said it looks pretty good… I'm excited! I got up and took Robby for our regular little cruise around Santa Cruz. On our way back my mom texted me and said that my brother, Robert, David, Corrine and Melissa were here so we rushed back. I got to say hello to them before Rosa came in to put me to bed. I almost forgot that Angie was hosting a  jamboree nail party for me online, unfortunately was just her and I but we had a lot of fun. I haven't hung out with Angie for a long time, we always have fun. My mom said that she wanted to go to bed so I left early and then everybody decided to play cribbage, Melissa had never played before and wanted to learn… We only played one game and Melissa actually ended up winning.

Tuesday Lisa came in and got me up and Stanley made one of his killer breakfasts, scrambled eggs, bacon and biscuits. I wasn't sure if the kids were up or eating breakfast so I decided to take Robby for a little cruise through the lagoon, down West Drive to the lighthouse Museum, down to the end of the wharf where I texted Stanley to see what the kids were up to. Stanley and the kids met me at the wharf and we hung out there for a while and then decided to cruise back up Westcliff Drive to the lighthouse Museum, by this time Melissa decided that she loves it here and wants to move here. I took some pictures with my Google Glass with they didn't seem to turn out very well, and hoping that it's just the way the sun is and not because the quality of Google Glass. Everybody was getting tired so we headed on back home and while Rosa was putting me to bed everybody ordered pizza, I got sausage and pineapple and it was awesome… And also a salad. After dinner everybody got up and went on their way back to Modesto, they're going to a cabin the next day so wanted to get home to get some rest.  One of my caregivers broke off the cord in the battery charger that I use for my wheelchair, of course nobody said anything and acted surprised. I hope it can be fixed. I was wondering why at only 5 miles my check battery was almost used up, I thought I was going to start having battery problems again.

Wednesday was another really nice day, the weather has just been perfect! I got up and cruised over to Arana Gulch to not only test out my battery charge but because it's such a beautiful place to cruise through. I had a meeting with Roger and Karen and I was an hour early so Robby and I just cruise around to check everything out. I cruised over to Dominican rehab and that with Roger and Karen and I think were ready to go, our first support group meets April 8th and I'm so excited! I'm a little nervous about how to start the first group but I think after I do it a couple times I will get the hang of it, luckily Karen and Roger will be there to help me out. I got some flyers and I'm going to see if I can get them out to some of the local papers. We cruised back over to the side of town and decided to go down to the wharf, when it's really warm out there is always a nice breeze there to cool down. We cruised back home just in time for Rosa to come in with hamburgers and french fries. Rose put me to bed, we did some personal care and of course my nice long hot bath. I watched some shows on TiVo and then went to sleep.

Thursday, of course another lovely day? I got up and cruised over for my appointment with Carol, my psychologist. I miss our appointment last week so I have a lot to say and I really talked a lot. After the appointment I cruised over to the Civic Center to pick up my tickets for the Derby girls last bout, they added one more to the series. We cruise around downtown for a while and then cruised through the lagoon and out to Safeway to pick up my prescriptions. I ran into Bill and then remember that I forgot to call him, my lift hasn't been working and I only remember to call him after I get back into bed. He said he would come on Monday to replace it… Happy accident!  We cruised over to the wharf, to the boardwalk and then back home. It was starting to get really warm out and although luckily there are a lot of businesses downtown that put of all of water outside for dogs, now all I have to do is hook up my automatic leg bag emptier and I won't have to come back so early all the time, when I'm in my chair I'm much more comfortable just cruising around than sitting around. Rosa came in and put me to bed and I'm not sure how long she stayed because I kept falling asleep.

Friday I decided to just stay in bed, I am at the first stage of a pressure sore and I don't want it to get any worse so a few days in bed on my side would be the best thing. Teresa came in and fed Robby and I, did payroll and then left. I am watching Unbroken, it's a really good movie! Teresa came in and fed Robby and I.

Saturday was pretty much the same, another day on my side. The good news is my pressure sore is almost gone, it was just red but I don't want to get any further than that. Karen came in and finish decorating for Easter and put together some Easter baskets for the girls… And Omar, they look so cute!  Omar came in and took out the sink in the laundry closet, no one has ever used it anyway… Except to put dirty clothes in… And I need the space for my dresses. Rosa came in and we did some personal care and I got to take a nice long hot shower, I am afraid to take a bath until my lift gets fixed… It felt great anyway!

Sunday was my last day staying in bed and I'm so happy! The weather has been a little warm but it is supposed to cool off next week and I can't wait to get up and out of here. I have been watching a lot of movies and TiVo so nowadays I have room on my DVR but I'm really getting antsy and cranky.
