A constant flow of family and friends, I love it…

Monday was a really good day. Karen came in and got me up and I headed down to the Santa Cruz wharf to meet my mom, my uncle and aunt and Fred and Joanne for lunch. The weather is getting a little bit colder, mostly windier. We had a really nice lunch and after we were visiting when they started setting up for a huge party, I always panic because I don't want anybody to have to move so I can get righteously so we went outside and talked for a little bit out there. Robby and I cruised around for a while and then came back to see what was going on. Omar is starting to clear out the rocks by the pergola to build my built in barbecue area, I can't wait… It's so exciting! I think it's going to leave a lot more room, he's also building a place next to the barbecue for my smoker. Rosa came in and put me to bed and I watched TV and relaxed the rest of the evening.

Tuesday was another good day but not as windy. Lisa came in and got me up and took me to my appointment with Dr. Hurray, Robby just loves him. We were sitting in the lobby and somebody opened the door and lobby could hear his voice and he got all excited! I told the doctor that Robby was retiring and he asked me to please still bring him in so he could see him, he took a bunch of pictures. After my appointment we went to Home Depot to get some tubing for my automatic leg bag emptier and saw a bunch of Easter plants that were on clearance so of course we went to get some.

Wednesday was a pretty good day. Karen came in and got me up and I noticed that everybody was gone so I took Robby for a cruise through the lagoon and down to the end of the Santa Cruz wharf and back. It was going to be my uncle and aunt's last day here so I wanted to do something with them. My mom and my aunt still were not home when I got back so I set out on the back porch with uncle Ronnie and we had a really nice long chat about everything, I really love that guy. My mom came down to join us when she got home and so did my aunt, it was just a beautiful day and great company. We decided instead of going out to dinner we went over and raided my aunts refrigerator, before they went on vacation they made a big batch of split peas soup and told us to help ourselves… We did! It was really good! Rosa came in and put me to bed and I fell asleep watching TV.

Thursday was a pretty good day. Karen came in and got me up and I said a said goodbye to my uncle and aunt before I went downtown to my appointment with Carol, I really became aware of something over the last couple of weeks so I couldn't wait to share with her. I know I have really bad social anxiety but the last couple of weeks I realize that whenever I'm in a group, family or not, and pretty much walking on egg shells because I don't want anybody to get their feelings hurt, to say something mean or anything like that. I just realized it but I know I have been doing it for a long time so I just telling myself that everyone is in adults and I can't protect everybody's feelings, it felt good to get that weight off my shoulders. After I left my appointment I cruised around downtown trying to find a place to get my face waxed and get facials. I remember cruising around and saying a bunch of them but of course when I'm looking for them I didn't see very many so Robby and I cruised down to the Santa Cruz wharf and then back home. My aunt and uncle were just getting back from breakfasts with my mom so I got to say goodbye again, I really don't like saying goodbye but it's getting easier. Rosie came in to put me to bed and feed Robby and I so we could do some personal care and a nice long hot bath, the bath was heaven. Again I think I fell sleep right away.

Friday was a really good day. Karen came in and got me up and I headed over to pet smart to practice some commands with Robby, I like to go into crowded places to keep him from trying to visit with everybody and I'm working on being strong about Robby being a working dog and supposed to ignore everybody and everything except me. He's doing really good! I found a place online that this waxing and facials so while I was going there I saw another place even closer so I decided to stop in see if they would give me a facial and wax my face in my chair, they said yes and I had an appointment. I cruised back home to rest for a bit and then headed back over. My appointment was with Jennifer and she was so sweet, it really felt good to get a facial and definitely felt great to get waxed… I've been hiding my face in tall scarves for a long time. I made an appointment to go back in three weeks, I hope to make this and every three-week ritual. Robby and I cruised back home and Theresa put me to bed, got me something to eat and left. I'm watching TV eagerly awaiting a visit from my nephew and his friend Sara… And of course my brother Stanley.

Saturday was a really great day. Karen came in early so I got up early, it felt great! Usually on the last one up but since I was the first one I took Robby for a cruise over to the Santa Cruz wharf where they were sitting up for ride a wave. They were set up on the beach with beach chairs, surfboards with car seats on them and our water vessels for the differently able kids to ride… They have so much fun. I found out a couple of years back that ride a wave was co-facilitated by a guy that I went to high school with, I ran into him one day and it was really great to see him. I took some pictures and cruise down to the end of the Santa Cruz wharf and then came back so I wouldn't miss breakfast… I just love Stanley's created breakfasts. He made scrambled eggs with cream cheese and zucchini patties. JohnPatrick, Sara and I took off for the Santa Cruz wharf, I showed them how to get to all the cool places in Santa Cruz in case they wanted to cruise around later… JohnPatrick has been to all of these places but it's been a while. We cruised down to the end and then back and then over to the boardwalk and cruise down to the end of there and back and I was going to take them downtown but the battery on my chair was dying… It was already 8 1/2 miles. They cruised back home with me and then took off for their own adventure. Theresa came in and put me to bed and we did some personal care and of course a nice long hot bath. I watched a little bit of TV and then I was out.

Sunday was a great day. Karen came in and got me up, Stanley and I were going to take JohnPatrick and Sara to the Monterey Bay Aquarium but we got a late start so we decided to just go to the movies and get something to eat. We decided to see Batman v Superman, it was a really good movie and everyone enjoyed it. After the movie we decided to go over to Surfrider's Café to get something to eat, one of my favorite places. Stanley and I got the Ahi tuna salad and JohnPatrick and Sara got the pork sliders, needless to say everybody enjoyed their meal we had a good time. We came back home and rested for a bit before Theresa came in to put me to bed, I was so tired I was out almost immediately.
