Another beautiful week in Santa Cruz…

Monday was a really nice day, a little cold in the beginning but it turned out nice. I got up and went cruising around with Robby and my Google glass. I'm trying to go off into neighborhoods that I haven't been before so I can look at everyone's yard and figure out what I want to do with my, I have gotten some really good ideas. I think that I might possibly have way more ideas than I have yard so think goodness for landscape designers. I came back and rested for a bit and then went out on a cruise again, this time through the lagoon and to the end of the wharf and back. Rosa came and put me to bed and Heather came over to cook, she grilled some vegetables outside and everything smelled so good.

Tuesday was a really beautiful day. I got up and took Robby for cruise through the lagoon and to the surf Museum and back, the weather was just perfect. I rested for a bit and then cruise down to get my teeth cleaned, I get them cleaned every three months just in case are not doing a good enough job during the week… It's really hard to have somebody else brush your teeth. I came back and Teresa put me to bed and we did some personal care.

Wednesday was an awesome day. I wasn't going to take out my Google class because I thought I had already taken a picture of everything but I decided to go up into the residential areas and look for yard ideas again, I found a lot of new things that I liked. A while back I remember going by this house that looked like a barn and I thought it was just the coolest house in the world so I went back to look for it, I found it. I looked on one side and there was a ramp but no one around to invite me in. I'm always afraid I'm going to get lost but it's really hard to get lost in Santa Cruz because you always come out at the ocean. I came back and Rosa put me to bed and Lee and Claudia, my uncle and aunt and my mom and I played cribbage… Lee was my partner and we won a dollar.

Thursday was a pretty relaxing day. I was going to take my Google class and go check out some succulent gardens in Aptos but that fell through so I decided to just stay in bed. Karen did some personal care and Adela and cleaned my room and I just relaxed the rest of the day. A couple of weeks ago Heather introduced me to this place downtown called the all of connection, they have different flavored vinegars and all oils, I bought a couple different kinds and just loved the taste of everything that Heather experimented with so I was bored today so I went online and ordered a couple of different kinds of all oils and vinegars. I met the lady that owns the store, Heather knew her and introduced me to her. The guy, her husband, called me and sent that he noticed that I just lived right around the corner and he could drop it off… How sweet is that? Heather happened to be here taking Robby out to go potty and I heard them talking in the backyard so Heather invited her in. What a small world?? They seem to be very sweet people and I will definitely be trying out some different vinegars and oils, I want to try mixing zone for salads. It turned out to be an exciting day after all.

Friday was a great day. Of course it started off with a nice two hour massage and then Karen came to get me up. I cruised around some parts of Santa Cruz that I haven't before, I'm having a lot of fun exploring new parts of Santa Cruz. I came back about 4 PM and rested for a while that the Teresa came and brought me some notables from Hong Kong Charlie's. I ate my noodles and then headed off to see blue oyster cult at the beach boardwalk, of course it was an awesome show. I showed up extra early so I could get a good spot but even at 5 PM, the concert starts at 6:30 PM, they were all taken. I found a little gap in between two people and decided to sit sideways with one of my foot rests in the gap so nobody would crowd in front of me, wouldn't you know it somebody crowded in front of me? The lady stepped over my foot rest and knocked the lady who was sitting to the right and trying to set up her chair but there wasn't enough space so she asked the people on either side to move over and they did, I wish I would've had enough nerve to do that. She motioned to, I'm guessing her son, some guy and he came up and stuck his space in my face and said "I know exactly how you feel because I was in a wheelchair for six years", why do people think they know exactly how I feel? He proceeded to step over my foot rest, I felt bad but I didn't dare move. The lady turned around and looked at me and said "it's okay we will be sitting down" then she proceeded to try to start a conversation with me, the concert could not have started fast enough. I came home and Teresa put me to bed.

Saturday was a pretty good day. I cruised over to the lagoon to see if the driftwood stumps were still there but they were gone. I spotted them a couple days earlier and asked my neighbor, who works for parks and recreation, if they were put there for decoration. He said that sometimes homeless people stick them they are so they can hang out and have somewhere to sit or to start fires when it gets cold. He said he would check them out and if they weren't supposed to be there he would let me know or even bring them to my house and put them in my front yard, I'm redoing my friend yard and I thought they would be great. I was sad to see when I got back home that they were not in my front yard, I can only hope that he still has them and is going to bring them. I rested for a while and Rosa came to put me to bed and do some personal care and of course a nice long hot bath.

Sunday was such a nice relaxing day. After cruising around yesterday and trying to find a place where there wasn't millions of people, pretty much impossible during summer around here, I decided to just stay in bed and enjoy. I slept most of the day and it felt great. My aunt came over with some fresh tomatoes from her garden so Rosa made me a salad and I had some salami, cowgirl cheese, fresh tomato and crackers for dinner.

I like the house that looked like a barn, Tammie. How cool to be cruising the neighborhoods in your area to see what is out there. I bet the Blue Oyster Cult was a great concert! LOL with the guy that had been in the wheelchair for 6 years and says he understands what you are going through; if he did, he should not have crowded you out like that. Glad you were able to get out and about though!
