It's almost Thanksgiving and I can't wait…

Monday was a pretty good day. It looks like I am on my last couple of days of being confined to bed and I can't wait. I hope there's still a little bit of sunshine when I'm able to get up and around but if not I don't care, I'm out of here. The visiting nurse came by and she wasn't as excited as I am about the progress but I'm the one that's been stuck in bed. Bill from West Coast mobility came by to fix my lift again, it hasn't really charged since he left it a week ago so he came and put new batteries in it. I hope it works tomorrow because I have an appointment. Rossa came in and out frustrated and still on my side I tried not to act frustrated, it's really hard sometimes. I apologize to her before she left for being so cranky and she said it's okay, she is so sweet.  Shaun texted me and told me she wanted three days off around Christmas, Karen is going to be off for two weeks and Rosa wants three days off… Lisa hasn't yet let me know what days she wants off but it looks like the only one that's going to be able to work is Teresa, luckily she gets out of school the first week of December. I was really bored today so I went through all of my photos in iPhoto and deleted about 1500 so hopefully my computer will run better.

Tuesday was a really great day. Lisa got me up and took me to my eye appointment, I forgot they were going to dilate my eyes. I decided to just come home and put on my sunglasses and take Robby for a nice long cruise anyway, I don't know if it was a mistake because I could see… Probably for the best. We cruised through the lagoon, down Westcliff Drive to the lighthouse Museum and back, down to the end of the wharf and back and home… I think. By the time I got home the light was hurting my eyes so much that I got a headache but it was worth it to finally get out in the beautiful sunshine. I got home and Omar and taken out the miniature fruit trees in front of my van, they have been there for seven years and I haven't gotten one piece of fruit on them… I think they didn't get enough sun. He put up some trellises and some black-eyed Susan vines, he also got rid of this tree that I've been trying to get rid of… Omar is pretty cool. Rosa came in and put me to bed and I was out almost immediately, I was so tired… So was Robby.

Wednesday was a great day, any day that I get up these days is a great day. Kay came over and did my hair, she cut it a little shorter than usual so I'm trying to decide if I like it or not… I think I'm going to like it. I took Robby for a cruise through the lagoon, down Westcliff Drive to the lighthouse and back, to the end of the wharf and back and to the end of the boardwalk and back. The weather was perfect and I was so great to be out and about. I came home and rested for a while, I forgot all about the farmers market, and then Rosa came in to do some personal care and I got to take a shower, I can't wait for the day when I can take baths again.

Thursday was Thanksgiving and even though I was stuck in bed it was a great day. I wasn't sure who/how many people were going to come and join us and I wanted to make sure that we got everything so I ordered Thanksgiving dinner from whole foods market, it was really really good. Teresa came in this morning, Karen is off until Monday having Thanksgiving with her family, and put me on my side for a while. She took Robby for a walk and then went to pick up the dinner. Tom and Kelly came over and we ate and visited, what a great day! Unfortunately we all forgot to take pictures so there is nothing to share.

Friday was another day wasted in bed, it was so beautiful outside. I had my bedroom door that goes out to my patio whitened so I can go sit out there in the sun and I don't know why I don't, I never think about it until everybody goes home. Teresa came my company on my side and assess the leftovers to see what she can make. We found some recipes for stuffing muffins, mashed potato pancakes with bacon and green onions and turkey noodle soup. I found some gluten-free Focaccia bread so I could have turkey and cranberry sandwich and it was really good. Terri came by with her cousin whom she had been newly acquainted with, they didn't talk for many years because family quarrels… You know how that goes? They visited for a while and then went to the wharf to have lunch. Shawna came in and we did some personal care and the rest of the evening I just watched movies from pay-per-view, is so nice when my caregivers the fairly early and I have time to just relax and watch movies.

Saturday… Stuck in bed again. The good news is my pressure sore is looking better and that is very exciting. I pretty much just laid around and watch TV, I didn't really have a chance. I did watch the movie Tammy, I've wanted to see it for a long time and never got over to the theaters, it was so hilarious… I loved it. I kept it so I can watch a couple more times. I downloaded another one from pay-per-view and I think I'll wait and watch it later on for tomorrow, I saw the previews in the theater and it looks very funny also.

Sunday of course I stayed in bed. Lisa came in and flipped me on my side for a while and then flipped me back… And feeling like a pancake. Now I'm hungry for pancakes! Teresa came in a little bit upset, she may turkey noodle soup out of the rest of our turkey and then dropped it all over the floor… She was so mad at herself. She did manage to save me a bowl and it was really awesome! We decided to just get another turkey, roast it here and then try it again. She also made some stuffing muffins which were also awesome. We did some personal care and I got to take a shower so I was happy, I was pretty anxious so I took a lorazepam and went right to sleep.

Getting your eyes dilated is the worst. Especially if you have light eyes. I think I'm due at my next visit.

I'm glad that you got out and about.

Stuffing muffins sound delicious, Tammie :)

Wow that was a lot of photos to delete! I probably have the same, LOL, if I think about it :)

I hope in the next month you will have more days out of bed then in them so you can enjoy this festive season!
